My name is Maile Silva. I'm 17 years old, and I attend Telluride High School, a 2A division school. Things that I bring to a team is a positive attitude 100% of the time, self-discipline, adaptability, and a competitive spirit. I was a competitive gymnast for three years at a state level before joining the school's track team. Along with the track team, I joined the volleyball and basketball team. During my Freshman year, I went to states and placed 6th in both long jump and 300m hurdles. During my Sophmore year, I went to states and placed 3rd in both long jump, 300m hurdles, and the 4x100m relay. Currently, in my Junior year, I am doing a student exchange in the Czech Republic. I have always had a love for travel and new experiences and an appreciation for different cultures and languages. It is because of these things that I have an interest in international studies. As an athlete, I challenge myself to do better and work for better results. I can excel both independently and within a group. I'm coachable and always looking for ways to improve.
