I stumbled into ice hockey, much later than most, at age 14 after playing soccer for years. From the moment I stepped on the ice, I knew that I found my game and committed myself completely to working hard to develop my skating, stickhandling, and hockey IQ. In approximately a year’s time, I went from being barely able to skate to starting right defense for the 2023 - 2024 Good Counsel high school varsity team. This spring, I am playing for the TriCity Eagles (Laurel, MD) 16U AA Spring travel tournament team and will join the 16U AA nationals bound team for the ‘24 Fall season.
I have been very fortunate with the coaches I have had the opportunity to work with, the camps I have been able to attend, and the game time/tournaments I have participated in. This past season, I enjoyed working with the freshman both at team practices and at weeknight/weekend stick and puck sessions to develop their game and to build camaraderie. My approach to my team is we are a unit - we all depend on each other, trust each other, and have things we can teach each other. My coaches frequently comment on my commitment to both my development and my team, as well as my coachability - two traits that I believe would benefit most teams. I look forward to continuing to develop over my next two years in high school and joining a competitive college program.
