Owen Kiesman '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, 

Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.  I want to start by saying that I live to play hockey. It truly is the best sport in the world.  I’m very competitive and focused and willing to give all of my effort to  every drill, practice,  shift, and game. I’m not afraid of hard work and will do whatever it takes to improve my game and to also help my teammates to succeed. I will pass before shooting and would rather have the biggest check of the game than a goal.  I’m a defenseman comfortable playing both sides and will even play forward if you ask. I played center/wing this year on the varsity team  due to a need and ended up 5th for total points and 1st in assists in WNY  in the Federation league my first season at that position.  I enjoyed the challenge and hoped it would help to make me an even better defenseman.  Like every 17 year old my age I have dreams of playing pro- though unlikely... but those professionals were once kids with dreams of their own as well.  I also know the importance of  academics and work as equally hard  to achieve to also assist with my future plans.  My goals are to play as high a level as possible following quality opportunities if they present themselves, or attending college and using my brain... or both...which ever one works out!   Thank you coaches for reading my message and I hope to hear from you soon.
