My dedication to progressing in hockey is undeniably profound. My dream is to play in college hockey and be competitive with most teams in my division once I arrive to that destination. And when there are speed bumps in my performance, to learn from them and climb even higher.
I believe my character plays a big part in being at the top of my game. From being a Second Class Boy Scout, a mentor for younger students who need a friendly figure in their lives (CFES program), and being an active member in my community with volunteering for numerous fundraisers, food drives, board meetings and more.
Being a constant highest/high honor role student in all AP/Honors classes is a feat worth taking a second glance at. Similarly, joining National Honors Society as a student athlete is not as common as it used to be. When in college I will major in Aeronautical Engineering, and minor in teaching (specifically aiming for the sciences).
Not only are my academics in school note-worthy, but my hockey knowledge on the ice is exemplary. Coaches and refs throughout the years have called me the "quarterback" of the teams I've been on for how constantly audible I am about the full game all while focusing on doing my own job at hand. My team has awarded me of being Assistant Captain of my team for this type of leadership. This knowledge-based anticipation and communication is something coaches can expect from me.
I also believe having good performances are made off the ice. Every time I'm in the weight room (whether in my school or in my own home) I am pushing or pulling myself closer to my goals one rep at a time. Conditioning is also a big factor of my game and speed camp in the summer boosts this. Keeping my reaction speed intense is also very important to me so doing small things to keep it sharp is essential. All of this hard work I implement into my game combined with the exceptional ability of a goaltender.
