Hudson Howard '23 Recruiting Profile

I was born in Eagle River, Alaska in June of 2005.  My parents took me to Alaska Aces ECHL hockey games when I was young and fell in love with the sport.  For an Alaskan, I started skating late...I was 6 years old when I first got on the ice.  My parents both retired from the Air Force in 2020 and we moved to Pennsylvania.  The hockey competition here is amazing.  I've met great teammates and coaches who've pushed me to be my best.  The one thing coaches always tell me is I'm always giving 100% and I'm a very consistent hockey player.  I enjoy being physical on the ice and battle for the puck.  I also enjoy killing penalties and shutting down the other team.  I've always felt a successful shift doesn't have to be one where you score, but if you can frustrate the other team and keep them off the scoreboard, then you're headed in the right direction.  I've always had a "defense first" mentality, but the coaches here are helping my find my scoring touch.  I think a coach would find that I'm a great teammate and leader on and off the ice.  I like to set the example with my work ethic and dedication to the sport.
