I started playing lacrosse in kindergarten. In 6th grade, I volunteered to be my team’s
goalie and have found the position fits my style of play and personality. Having
completed my first year as a goalie for St.Ignatius College Preparatory in San
Francisco, I know that I want to play in college.
My work ethic is well suited to being a goalie. I am resilient and want to improve every
time I am on the field. I am often first on the field at practices and last to leave. I am a
leader, always talking to my defenders and middies during a game. I don’t let the tough
games get me down but leave the field with my head held high knowing I worked hard
and am committed to improving. I continue to work with my goalie coach (Andrew
Gvozden of Goaliesmith) to improve my game, reflexes and stick skills and accept the
advice wholeheartedly and the bruises with pride.
Off the field, I am a committed student. I focus on my studies and achieved a high GPA
while taking demanding courses including Algebra II Honors and Latin II Honors as a
freshman. I also play school and club water polo. I find the sports complimentary and
my year-round commitment results in strong physical conditioning. I am now one of the
fastest runners on my travel lacrosse team. I am also proud to be a puppy raiser for
Canine Companions for Independence, a national not for profit organization that
provides service dogs free of charge to adults, children, facilities and veterans with
disabilities. I am the founding President of Canine Companion’s first school and student
chapter with puppy raisers.
I am ready and willing to work hard and support a great college lacrosse team.
