One of my earliest memories is going to a field to watch my dad and my older brother play lacrosse. Now, my brother serves as an active duty US Marine, and my dad is a law enforcement officer, now retired after being permanently disabled in the line of duty working in Baltimore. I fell in love with lacrosse watching my family play, and I am even more passionate about it now.
I work hard on and off the field to be an asset to my teammates and coaches. I am not the person that takes the easy path, and this is because I have goals I want to reach. Five days a week after school I am in the gym working out. For many years, I have trained in speed and agility with Super Bowl winner Qadry Ismail from the Baltimore Ravens. In addition, I do strength training throughout the year with a professional lifting coach. I have the stick in my hand every day doing lacrosse workouts on my own and with trainers.
It is my dream to study engineering in college and play lacrosse. But I understand the “student” part of “student athlete” is more important. I have goals that I want to reach, and I am willing to take the tougher route in an effort to reach my goals. For that reason, I have taken 3-4 honors/AP classes per year, and have taken the highest level math and science classes my school offers. When I get home in the evening following my workout, I attack all of my homework. I do not stop until it is complete, because I want to reach my goal of studying engineering and playing lacrosse in college.
