Hello, My name is Amdan Saccoh and I am an aspiring college athlete I have been playing soccer since the age of 7 and I have fell in love with the game ever since. Soccer has been my whole life and I devote almost everything I do to get better and be the best I can be and help my team. I am a good candidate for every teams system because I am a team player, a leader, and I work for the team the best I can. For my game One of my greatest strengths is my pace and my defensive skills. I am very comfortable on the ball and am able to make quick decisions to move forward. Defensively I am very rarely beaten on 1 on 1 situations because I can position my self very well where it is hard to get pass me. If you are able to get pass me, I can rely on my recovery speed to help me get back and win the ball. But, I am not just all defense. My attacking game is just as good as my defensive game. I love running at defenders from a wing back position and I can make overlapping runs to get a good cross in or shoot the ball.
When it comes to my academics I don't play with it. From a young age I was taught that it is always education before everything because I always have to keep my options open. I have always wanted to maintain a high GPA in high school to better myself and be ready for college. Some obstacles I have to overcome is, I was very overweight and obese as A child. I usually wasn't able to run and I would be out of breathe after a few seconds of running. It got to the point where the government had to call child services and almost take me away from my family. I knew then that if wanted to get to play soccer at a high level I made a commitment to lose all the weight I had. But, this wasn't all just for soccer, I needed to change my life so I could stay with my family and be healthy and live a log life. I eventually lost the weight and now I am competing at a high level of soccer and I can say I am happy with my body. Playing the sport I love taught me a lesson of hard work and how you won't be able to achieve anything without working hard. It is how my parents were able to immigrate to this country from Sierra Leone and help make a life for my family. Working hard throughout your life is the only way you will make a better living for yourself. I hope from reading this you can understand the passion i have for this beautiful game and how I want to excel it even more in my life when I play.
