Throughout my athletic career, I have played hockey, soccer, lacrosse, and baseball. I have played for several different teams and coaches and have learned many life lessons along the way . I have found discipline, determination, focus, dedication, and most importantly, brotherhood. Nothing compares to the brotherhood I’ve developed with my teammates and I wouldn’t trade the feeling of competing and winning alongside them for anything.
My favorite part of sports is arriving to the field or ice rink and being able to separate myself from the world for a couple of hours and be a leader. In my eyes, being a leader is the most important and rewarding aspect of being an athlete. If you can go into every practice, game, or training session as a leader, you will be able to achieve great things through sports and life.
As an athlete, I am seen by most as an unselfish, team-first player. I feel this is the best compliment that an athlete can receive. For me, the biggest takeaway in all my sports has been that I am someone who could be relied on in the biggest moments of a game. Some of my coaches have told me that, as big games are winding down, they are always sure to make sure I am on the field. That is ultimately what I push for and strive to be, a clutch player that can be there for his team when they need him the most.
