My name is Jackson Murphy and I am currently a sophomore at Burke Catholic High School in Goshen NY. I will be graduating in 2019 at which time I expect to go to college and hopefully continue playing lacrosse.
I have been playing lacrosse since the age of 8 and it is a sport I truly love. I also play Varsity football and wrestle at Burke but lacrosse is my passion. For as long as I can remember my parents have stressed the importance of education but also supported me in athletics. This combination has provided me with a good balance of studying and physical activity.
My main priority in college will be an education. Although I have yet to decide on a career path I have always enjoyed math and science and want to pursue studying in those fields. Along with this education I hope to play competitive lacrosse. Sports have always been a great experience for me and the camaraderie of a team working together in pursuit of one goal has always driven me to excel. I feel that the drive of your teammates and the lessons learned from my coaches have helped me immensely both on and off the field.
As I have gotten older I have realized the importance of lacrosse in my life and recognized how much the sport has become a part of me. As I begin the next stage of my life in college I do not want to lose the benefits I can get through playing lacrosse. Hopefully, I will get the opportunity to continue to play at the next level and continue to grow both academically and athletically and reach the goals I have set for myself.
