Dear Coaches,
Thank you for considering my profile. My name is Sascha van Praag, and I am in the class of 2024. I was born in the Netherlands and lived there for about 10 years before moving to North Carolina. I played soccer as a goalie until 7th grade, then switched to football and wrestling. I began playing lacrosse in 8th grade, and it quickly became my favorite sport. My goal is to play at the college level.
Moving from one country to another, learning a new language, and making new friends have taught me valuable skills such as adaptability and resilience. These experiences have shaped me into a person who is determined, persistent, and hardworking. I apply this mindset to my passion for lacrosse and strive to improve and reach my goals.
Academics have always been a priority for me. My family places a strong emphasis on academic success, and I strive to perform my best in the classroom. I have maintained an average GPA of 4.4 in my Freshman and Sophomore years. In my first semester of Junior year, I received a 4.5 GPA.
Although I haven't been playing lacrosse as long as some others, I am working hard every day to improve my stick and feet skills. I play with my club/travel team, the Carolina Hilltoppers, year-round, and watch film and games to enhance my understanding of the sport and game IQ. I am committed to continuing to work hard throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Sascha van Praag
