Baden Garwood '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Baden Garwood and I am a 2024 goalie from Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Our area in Virginia does not offer lacrosse through the school system but there is the Rockingham Lacrosse Club that fills in for spring lacrosse.  I first started playing lacrosse with that team in 7th grade as an attackman. But the team needed a goalie, so I switched over to that position during my 8^th grade season. I instantly fell in love with that position, and I have made it my goal to be the best lacrosse goalie I can be. I have participated in any and all coaching and practice opportunities I can find. I have very supportive parents who drive me the 2-3 hours back and forth to my summer/fall club practices and to train with the Goaliesmith. I will continue to work as hard as I can in order to be a successful college lacrosse goalie at any level.  As a goalie, I want to be able to stop every shot, but of equal importance, I want to be a good teammate and team leader. I think I have a great understanding of the game and of what offense the opposing team is trying to run.  I also know the importance of the entire defense working as a team for us to make stops and regain possession for our offense.  

Academically, I am thinking of going for a degree in Computer Science or Cyber Security field.  I am a 4.0 student and have consistently been on my high school’s honor roll. I definitely have the confidence I can be a successful student-athlete in my college career.
