My name is Liam Cadieux. I am a 6 ft 3 in center back with an eye for scoring, defending and creating plays. I lead by example. I have been team captain on many of my teams. I have played at the highest level here in Alberta, Canada and was fortunate to be selected represent my country in Mexico and be the captain of the team under an academy playing against the best pro academy teams in Mexico (Leon, Xolos Mochis, Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente.) We finished 2nd in the tournament and I finished as top scoring defender of the competition. I have recently been identified by a scouting agency from Portugal and offered a pro tryout with FC Porto as well as have received interest professionally from Germany (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Schalke. ) In 2020 I moved away from home to attend a soccer academy residency, the Victoria Highlanders Soccer Academy (Pacific Soccer Institute ) which is a U21 team who trains and plays in preparation for professional opportunities in Germany and the E.U. For fall 2021 I was selected to play with the BTB U21 academy team. This has given me the opportunity to attend a full time challenging educational environment, including a full schedule of AP classes, while training daily in a professional academy.
As academics are incredibly important to me, it is my intent to combine competitive post secondary soccer with pursuing a post secondary degree before looking at professional soccer opportunities. I am always looking to find a way to bring my teammates together and as someone who is mature and self-driven motivates teammates by example. I have a passion for the game of football and am a student of the game, continually analyzing and learning not just on the field but off. I am hoping to play at a high level in university and be challenged in a great learning environment in my chosen field. I love math and analyzing data and hope to one day work in aerospace engineering or biomedical engineering. I was homeschooled until grade 11 so I come equipped with a ton of responsibility, practical application of knowledge, and drive to learn and succeed. I have been noted and recognized for my character and ability to support and build up those around me and for excelling under pressure.
