Evan Cox '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Evan Cox and I am a senior at the Tatnall School, a college preparatory school in Wilmington, DE. I am looking for a college that will allow me to grow as a player and as a student.

I play center-mid, but I have adapted to any mid-field position when necessary. I have excellent ball control, outstanding dribbling, and consistent passing skills. I have great vision and am aggressive on the field, a skill that I developed when I was the smallest kid on the team before my growth spurt. 

I have started on my high school varsity team for all 4 years of high school and was captain of the team for the last two years. I was elected to 2nd team All-State my Junior Year and 1st Team all-conference both my Sophomore and Junior years.  2019-2020 proved to be a challenging time for my club team, FC Delaware, formerly Delaware Rush.  A number of leadership, coaching, and player transitions, along with Covid-19, resulted in inconsistent opportunities for me to demonstrate my higher level of play on the travel circuit. In addition,  a right ankle fracture during summer league play 2021,  side-lined me for summer ID camp chances. Fortunately, however, through outside personal training and rehab, I have been able to continue to develop and strengthen my soccer skills during that time and am back in full force for the fall season.

I tend to be a quiet, serious leader and a tactical, analytical player on the field; but light-hearted in the locker room.  I look forward to finding a college where I can be a contributor on and off the field.
