Thank you for reading this!
While my running career started in middle school, I have been a devoted athlete since I was seven years old. But after years of lacrosse and archery, my love of running pushed those others to hobby status. I completely devoted my athletic energies to running, specifically mid-distance running. Coming up to the varsity team early in my school career, I became a four season runner. And when I committed to 400 and 800 specifically, I was invited to join Anthuan Maybank's summer and fall pre-season prep (I took a step back from cross-country to do so). Under Maybank, I've continued to accelerate my career in ways I never thought possible. I am devoted to my craft and bringing my team wins, like last year's second place state finish in track and field. I was also invited to represent Delaware with Delaware Elite at Junior Nationals in summer 2019.
Running is one of my passions, but I have three others. Faith, academics and family. I received the highest honors in merit scholarships to attend the Tatnall School before my running career even began. There I have been recognized for my leadership skills and have gone to represent the school at meetings with state and national legislators, my role in student government, my participation in various service clubs and debate. I have been a teacher at my Sunday school, the lead in my school musicals two years running, and still maintained high honors and grades while working part time. As a junior, I was chosen along with 17 other teens to represent the PA, NJ, and DE region for advocacy and leadership in government and international relations, and will have a chance to meet with ambassadors from several countries in preparation for a World Congress meeting in Berlin (summer 2020).
I know I want three things in my life. To help people, to be up in front of students, and to run. I'm hoping to find the right college to help me continue on this path.
