Aloha, my name is Dylan Panui I am from Nānākuli, Oahu. I attend Kamehameha Kapālama campus on Oahu as well. I will be graduating with the class of 2022. I have played soccer all my life and would love to have the opportunity to continue to play soccer on the collegiate level. My cumulative GPA is a 3.5 and looking to bump my GPA next school year. I would be the first child in my family to go to college as I am the eldest of 3.
I made Varsity as a Freshman which was an honor for me to play at a Varsity level. I play both striker and right fullback for my school. Which makes me versatile and is able to adapt to both playing offense and defense. I am the lead striker for my club team and had 20 goals in both competitive seasons. I also was awarded the Golden Boot, which is given to the player with the most goals during the season in Hawaii.
This season I will be playing Center Back, my coach mentioned that I am able to create more attacking opportunities for my team. I enjoy playing both striker and fullback. I am excited to help my team and excel in this position. I have been a leader on my team and know the importance of maintaining my composure and being a leader on the team. I am able to listen and correct myself while being coached and is always looking to better myself after each game. Reflecting on the game is important to fix errors and work on the areas to become a better player.
Lastly, I would like to major in Marine Science or Conservation Management with an emphasis in Fishing and Forestry. I plan to have a career with the NOAA or Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Mahalo for your time.
Dylan Panui
