Soccer has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As early as 4 years old, I had a ball on my foot. Mentors and coaches along my journey have always encouraged me to rely on my raw passion and play with grit and heart. I may not always be the biggest, but I will work the hardest of anyone on the practice field or in a game. I make sure that I deliver results through speed, agility, and, primarily, my technical skills. I will also make a difference for any team by leveraging the mental and physical endurance I developed through hard work and discipline to persevere in any situation.
Winning tournaments like ESPN Disney and SuperCopa with the Chicago Fire Juniors and Dallas Cup with the Chicago Fire Academy helped me see the possibilities that come with drive, teamwork, and dedication. However, I learned the most valuable lessons from a tough loss in Generation Adidas Cup against Toronto FC. We had all the tools but fell short because we did not focus and got complacent. I reflected on what I and the team needed to learn and how we needed to adapt in order to accomplish our goals. There was video to review, personal adjustments to make and team connections to build. Less than 4 months later we made those necessary adjustments to deliver a 1-0 victory proving our tenacity would prevail.
I carry this desire to compete and achieve my best into every aspect of my life. I hope to help others through a degree in biomedical engineering/sciences, so in spite of the fact that I drive almost 4 hours round trip every day for practice, I take honors and AP classes to push myself to reach my academic goals as well as my soccer goals. The dedication and discipline that I have developed to be successful as an honors student athlete will translate into success in the most competitive college programs.
I bring a passion for soccer, devotion to team and dedication to being the very best I can to any challenge put in front of me. The individual and team lessons I have learned through soccer and high school have prepared me well to be a leader in any program.
