How can I truly explain who I am as a person and who I want to be once I grow older? I have always been an athlete and for as long as I can remember sports have always been a way for me to express my emotions of true pride and joy and help me relinquish some negative feelings I have. When I first joined cross country in 5th grade, I always knew I was going to be a runner but a distance one was far above me. Then during the 6th-grade spring, I had the chance to go out for the Millburn Track Team. Running short distances like 100 200 4x100 and 4x200 made me identify myself and I knew that I can't give up sports. In 7th and 8th I made it down to sectionals and for the 100 I barely missed the cut off by .3 seconds. By the time I reached freshman in high school, I decided on the last minute that I wanted to place tennis. After 3 years of playing it and winning a couple of tournaments later and having the chance to spend a junior year on varsity at 2 doubles made me realize that tennis was the perfect sport for me. This shows my compassion towards a sport and to the people who have helped me get here, the teammates that have supported me for the longest time. It shows my hunger for triumph, my strive to keep getting better each day that I'm on the court or I am on a track. I am different for the good and will put everything down to make sure that my other fellow teammates feel just as energized and excited as I am to be playing the same sport.
