As described by my coaches, I am a efficient, highly-skilled, focused defensive mid-fielder who has been passionate about soccer since I was five years old. I have traveled to Europe to play and watch soccer, was the only Freshman to start on varsity for my high school team and was named Rookie of the Year. I also played a critical role in helping my high school win its first and second conference championships, and have earned several awards for my play. Here is a little bit more about my history...
As early as I can remember, soccer has been my passion. I remember playing in my first game (a jamboree, actually), scoring my first goal, and winning my first game. I remember the first time I played on turf, played at night, and when I learned that I was a natural born center mid. Mostly, I remember and relish the feeling and pride that I had, and still have, being part of a team.
Soccer, in ways both large and small, has defined me. It has given me self-confidence. It has taught me humility. It has made me a better, more focused student. I have learned leadership and the value of good communication through it—the importance of being connected and coordinated, focused and disciplined.
Coaches who have coached me have described me as hard-working and selfless, and I have received interest from Division 1 and Division 3 coaches that have seen me play.
As I look to college, I want to go to the best school that I can academically and have positioned myself well to do that. I have worked hard in the classroom and have good grades. I have consistently challenged myself with honors and AP classes. I am eager to learn and grow.
Playing soccer in college is important to me. I want where I play to reflect the values I have—hard work, a desire to learn and grow as a team and a teammate, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to support the growth and progress of that team and those teammates. I want to play at a school where students have pride in their school and in their teams, and I look forward to making connections with colleges that are a great match with my goals.
