My ambition is to play soccer professionally at some level. I’m looking for a college where soccer isn’t just an activity, but a passion. A place that shares my own passion. I love playing soccer but also love to practice. I feel at peace while playing, with or without my team. I convert as much time in my day as possible into training. Although I live in New England I train year round, which means you can often find me playing alone in the rain and snow.
My other passion is for engineering. I’d like to attend a college with a good engineering program. I’ve enjoyed making robots on my own, without a kit, since I was seven. I’ve always designed my robots and gotten parts in different ways, from shopping online to searching the dump. I can see myself working at iRobot someday, because they focus on incorporating robots into everyday life. I admire robots that serve a purpose at home and I would like to create robots with those same ambitions in mind.
As a person I enjoy succeeding as well as seeing my friends and teammates succeed. In a game I don’t focus on how I can get the ball in the goal, I focus on how we can get the ball in the goal. I’m known as someone with a lot of energy, who’s also funny, compassionate, creative, fair, and a trustworthy friend. I’m open to criticism and comfortable saying I’ve made a mistake.
I’ve always been a problem solver and do better when classes focus on real world problems. I’m good with languages and like learning about different cultures. I’m not intimidated by challenge or change. I also know when I need help and I’m not embarrassed to ask for it.
