Filip Kaminski '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Filip Kaminski, I was born in New York City and I am 17 years old. I have been playing soccer for 12 years now and have encountered many challenges and obstacles along the way because of being financially limited. Therefore, I do not have many official games in my video due to not being able to join club soccer/academies. But my financial situation has always pushed me to become better instead of bringing me down, which is why I always take any opportunities around me that come my way. 

To start off, I have played for my entire high school career as a starter on the Boy's Varsity Soccer team. Last year, I was able to earn 11 goals and 6 assists in 7 games. This year, I was spotted by a personal coach while playing on the Parade Grounds in Brooklyn, Travis Martial, who was able to personally train me to this day, which I am very grateful for. Because of him, I have taken my own skills and his teachings to grow into a more confident player on the field. I believe that great players can come from any kinds of backgrounds, no matter how many or little resources they have been given. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been especially training more to learn new skills and build my endurance as well as speed. I am always putting in 100% effort on and off the field, learning how to work on myself as well as my communication with my teammates. Being able to continue playing the sport I love truly means everything to me and is something I want to keep close by for the rest of my life and possibly make it my career.

It would be amazing to be recruited by a college to play on a soccer team because that means I would be one step closer into becoming a professional soccer player. Lastly, I am looking forward to creating memories and experiencing all the games and practices with my future teammates. I hope a college on here can see my skills and potential and all that I can offer to their team.
