Thommy Mendez '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Thommy Mendez and my first full season at Patrick And Henry CC just came to an end. Finishing the Season 9-3-1 and coming short in our region final. We were able to achieve a ranking of 12th in the nation for NJCAA D2 and had a great season. Unfortunately it was good but not good enough, but I learnt a lot playing almost every single minute and being an important piece to my team. I look forward for what’s to come and eager to continue learning on this journey.

I have played soccer since i was 6, I grew love for the game as i got older. When the pandemic hit it's when I realized I needed to get serious and even though it was a bit of a catch up game I worked hard and got my opportunity on a USL Academy team. Many people doubted me and didn't have faith in me, but I worked in silence and let the results speak for themselves.  This motivates me day to day and teaches me that with hard work and dedication anything is possible, that's why I now aspire to be a professional soccer player one day. 

I can fit into any team, I'm always willing to learn, and give great competition to my team mates. This is why I believe I can play college soccer at any level, no matter what or who I won't step down from the challenge and give my all no matter what. I know i can bring great quality into any team and with that quality will also come a great student whose willing to learn both on and off the pitch. 

Coaches I hope you take me into consideration because I'm a well rounded teen whose willing to excel in classrooms and in soccer fields, and no matter the challenge I will work hard to go up against anyone despite age, size, and height.
