Mason Riddick '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mason Riddick and I am part of the 2025 class at Cohoes High School Varsity Soccer Team in Cohoes, New York. I am a goalkeeper. 

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I just received the Defensive MVP Award with 102 saves for the season with a 80% save rate. I love the game of soccer, but more importantly I love being a goalie. I have a different style of playing than other goalies. A DIII head coach told me that my technique is unorthodox but it was effective. I am the commander of the field and I make sure that I am loud and boisterous. Being goalie gives me a perspective that the rest of the team doesn’t see. I am able to help guide my team down the field, while also encouraging my team to pick themselves up after a bad play.

I have always been an athlete. I have been playing soccer since I was five years old. I was also a catcher throughout my Little League career. Two summers ago I played in the San Marino Cup in Italy. I was able to play soccer with peers from around the world. I also played Varsity Basketball for Cohoes High School.

I am a Scholar Athlete as well. I received the 2024 President's Award for having grades for over 95% for the entire school year. I just earned the Highest Honors. In my free time I love to fish, my car trunk is one big tattle box.
