There are many different traits a soccer player brings to the field. I have chosen five of my traits that I believe describe me best. My first trait is coachability. No matter what the circumstance or position, I will always listen to my coach and complete what they are asking to the best of my ability. My next trait is being a team player and having leadership. I always want my teammates to play the best they can, which means having the right mindset and attitude. If my teammate messed up I will not scowl at them but try to teach them how not to do it again. Throughout games I also will try to put my teammates in the best position possible so if they have no open pass I will go to them or get open as opposed to giving away possession by making a risky pass. Throughout my years of playing soccer I have also acquired lots of soccer knowledge. Knowing where to go with the ball, when to pass, when to shoot, what passes are predictable (etc.). This brings me to my next trait, which is acceleration on the field. If there is a ball in my general position I will get to the ball as fast as possible and do everything in my power to keep the ball moving. My fifth and final trait would be good ball control and handling. When the ball is coming towards you it is crucial that you can control the ball and move it in the best way possible. A soccer players life is not all on the field, while it is important to also have an outside life.
There are also many traits that people and/or soccer players portray to the outside world. I have also chosen five traits that describe me best off the field and as a general person. The first characteristic I would choose to describe myself is intelligence. I take my studies very seriously and push myself every day to be the best I can whether that be in a specific class or in general. I also want to help people to be the best they can be and that is why my second trait is being cooperative and understanding. If someone needs or wants something or needs help to get something I will be there to help that person. If someone is struggling to understand something I will walk through it with them until they understand the concept they were struggling with better. I also feel that with my understanding and cooperativeness, that I am considered approachable, friendly, and outgoing. If something is not right I will try to make it right whatever way I can, or until I make someone happy or feeling better. If something goes wrong I am also willing to adapt. I change perspective and attack a new challenge or issue, without hesitation or panicking. During my life I have taken part in a lot of athletics, clubs, and organizations. That brings me to my next trait, which is being well-rounded. I have figured out how to balance my studies, athletics, and social life between my time and push myself to excel in everything. I am interested in many things and am looking to try anything with an open mind, whilst focusing on the big picture and my priorities. Finally, I was raised to be well-mannered and to be kind and friendly towards others, no matter what the situation is. With all the different circumstances life throws at you, always choose kindness.
Whether I am on or off the field you can count on me to make the right decisions, think carefully before my actions, and know that if I make the wrong decisions there are consequences. What I bring to your team, is a student athlete who is devoted to his studies and his team.
