My name is Felipe Maia, I am a rising Senior from Brazil. My goals are to continue playing at the highest level of soccer and accomplish amazing things with my future team, titles, and records and create a strong friendship, preparing myself for life. Also, graduate as a health-related student and keep working in the sports field my entire life.
I am a hard worker, and a strong left-back, my main characteristics are offensives, great passes, long balls, free kicks, crossing, and support; however, my defense is very good, with agility, covering, air balls, and 1x1 on both sides of the field. I am box to box outside back.
I have been playing at a high level since my childhood in Brazil, playing in academies, clubs, and big championships. Since January 2022 in the U.S, my High School got 2nd place in the State Championship and I earned an All-State Honorable Mention. During the 2023 season we got the State Championship and I led my team in assists with 19. Also I was elected to All-Region 1st team, All-Area 2nd Team and All-State 2nd team as well.
I had the opportunity to be part of Gremio’s U12 main roster in 2018. I played one big championship where I have 6 assists and scored 3 goals. Gremio is one of the biggest Brazilian clubs and a powerhouse team, being South American and World Champions, their academy is one of the strongest in revealing Pro Players in South America. When I played there I learned a lot about tactics, positioning and improved my technical part, it was an amazing time.
I played Club Soccer in 2022-23 for a Premier 2 Club called Utah Avalanche, where I played two group ages up and got 10 assists in 23 games. We qualified for the USA Cup.
I also have experience playing in Europe, where I played the MIC Cup in Spain against big teams and awesome skilled players, it helped to develop my game and think the game of soccer in a different way.
For my Senior Year I am transferring from Utah to New York State, where I will study and play for Hoosac School. I made this choice thinking about College opportunities and a higher level development both in soccer and inside the classroom.
Inside the class, I am a very good student and always productive. I always made part in Math Competitions. I am a current member of the National Honor Society for Sophomore and Junior Year and Hosa. I have received an Academic Accomplishment for Geometry/Statistics in Sophomore Year and an Academic Acomplishment for Theology 11 and English 11 in my Junior Year. I was part of the Principal’s honor roll due to my GPA being 4.0.
With me, you can expect a true hard worker, lover, family guy, and winner who will make everything possible for the team and inside the classroom to help everybody.
