My name is Kosma Kurek. I was born in London and moved to NYC when I was 18 months old. I love sports and being active. I enjoy playing basketball, skiing, and sailing, but soccer is the sport I consider my own. I've been playing travel soccer for the last eight years within different clubs in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I have played for DUSC ( Downtown United Soccer Club) for the past few years. DUSC Academy is one of the most comprehensive soccer clubs in NYC. My team made it to the NAL National Championship this past season, and we were the runner-ups.
My favorite position is a winger, and I rotate between playing right or left. Playing a winger requires skills like speed, understanding of the game, and tactical abilities. I mostly watch professional football ( Premier League) to learn from the best players. I play not only for my club team but also for my high school varsity team.
I want to continue playing in college and combine it with my academic plans. I had the privilege of working with some excellent coaches who inspired me. Both on and off the field. One of the aspects of soccer I love is teamwork and working together through successes and failures.
