I have played soccer since the age of 5. Inspired by my father, who played Division III soccer at Ithaca College, during my sophomore year, I set a goal to further my own athletic career at the college level. Over the course of my high school career, I continued to fine tune my soccer and leadership skills. I was a three-year varsity starter for the Medina-Lyndonville merged soccer program in Western New York. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to compete this year as a senior amid the COVID pandemic. Our team went to the finals, where we were declared Section VI, Class B1 co-champions with Tonawanda. During three rounds of post-season play, I scored 5 goals and added two assists. I have netted 56 goals and 18 assists over the course of 50 games which set the career scoring records for both Lyndonville and Medina schools. I was also honored to be team captain my junior and senior years. I was recognized by my League (Niagara-Orleans) in 2019 as Player of the Year and 2020 as Forward of the Year. I also earned All Western New York honors in 2019, and was awarded MaxPreps/United Soccer Coaches High School Player of the Week for NY State (October 19-25, 2020).
I am a three sport athlete, also participating in basketball and baseball, where I have received similar honors. I decided a focus on soccer would give me the greatest opportunity to play at the collegiate level, and have dedicated hours of extra personal time to hone my skills and increase my overall fitness level.
I am also a dedicated student, and strive to succeed in all I do. I currently stand at #1 in my class academically. I feel that participation in athletics benefited me in this area as well, teaching me important lessons in time management and the necessity of a hard work ethic. I hope that participating in a sport at the collegiate level will continue to benefit my academic studies as I pursue higher education as well.
