My name is Haroon Ibrahimi and I am an accomplished student athlete expected to graduate from Blue Ribbon School, Herrick's Senior High School New Hyde Park NY, in the class of 2023. I have been playing soccer since I was seven years old. Soccer has always been a huge aspect of my life, and to me its more than just a game. Soccer has helped me overcome many obstacles which have grown me into the person, and player I am today. I always felt as if I was at a disadvantage compared to other players my age due to because I was a late bloomer. This caused me to become extremely insecure in my day to day life. I knew that I couldn’t beat opponents physically in regards to height and speed so I became determined to win another way, by my technical skills. Rather than letting my late blooming set me back from other players, I worked even harder to understand the technical aspects of the game and grow my skills. Now that I am continuing to grow and reaching the height of my opponents, I am able to use my speed, strength, height, skills and techinical understanding to win the tackle. In turn of all the struggles I faced with my height, soccer has helped me become a goal driven, agressive, confident player and person. I have achieved many of my goals through the life skills I have gained from soccer and my next goal is to further my atheltic and academic career at a top school.
