Hi, my name is Jackson and I am a junior in high school. (During my childhood) I was bullied because I had a stuttering issue. Although, a challenge, it not only helped me be stronger, but it helped me to be more empathetic to the challenges of others. I became interested in soccer when I was 5 because my mom had signed me up for every sport under the sun and soccer was the only one I really liked. Soccer has taught me a lot about myself. One of the unique characteristics I learned that I possess is that I have a great amount of tenacity, things don’t stop me easily. This can be seen when I first started playing soccer. I couldn’t kick the ball well or with enough power. So instead of giving up I decided to do something about it. During recess, I would practice my kick every day. I would kick the ball against the school wall as hard as I could. It got to the point where I would kick the ball so hard I kicked it over the roof. My tenacious spirit also can be seen in my school work. One of my academic goals for high school and college is to get over a 3.00 gpa.
