I am happy to report that my Club team, Triangle United 03 Silver, has advanced to the Premier league and will be playing in the 02 Premier League this season. It should be a tough group of teams, but we feel we are at our peak and should perform well.
A little about me, my biggest challenge in sports early on was my size, or lack of size in my youth. I was determined to be as good if not better than everyone else and I did this working on the things that I did have control over, which was playing with my heart and 100% effort all the time. Now that I am similar in size to my peers, I focus on maintaining my work ethic and technical proficiency. I would be a great member for any team. I have always been told I am a very "coachable" player. I am versatile and get along with all of my teammates. I have been recognized for this quality in many sports camps and sports teams my entire life winning awards such as "Mr. Hustle", and the Coach's award for exemplifying characteristics of superior sportsmanship . Furthermore, specifically in soccer, my current Club coach uses me as what he calls a "utility player". While most of my time on the field is played in either the right or left back position, I can also effectively play many other positions. I am commonly called in to play right and left wing as well as center attacking mid. My Coach knows he can count on me to be an effective player wherever he finds a need. I would say that my best skills are in ball control and passing accuracy as well as reading the field well. I am often a catalyst of a play, not the finisher, but the starter. I am not always the most notable person on the field; however, I think any coach would say that I was a dependable, hard working and a consistent player and a strong addition to any team. I am the ultimate team player; I will always choose to make the right choice for the team rather than self.
My current aspirations off the field are to get into the field of sports analytics. I intend to earn an undergraduate degree in either Business or Economics and then follow with a graduate law and/or MBA degree. I realize that this is a very difficult field to succeed in, but I believe that with hard work and dedication, I will succeed. In addition to my skills on the field, I am also a good student and person. I like to volunteer with my church and in other areas especially if I have an opportunity to work with kids. I am fun loving and easy going and would be a great addition to any team.
