I started playing soccer at age 4 and began playing goalkeeper on my travel soccer team, Wayne County United Soccer Club (WCUSC), at age 9. Ever since I stepped into the box, I have had a passion for playing this position. In 8th grade, I played goalkeeper for the JV and Varsity teams at Wayne Country Day School (WCDS) in Goldsboro, NC and the ’02 and ’03 WCUSC Classic travel teams. I was a captain of my JV Soccer team and my ’03 WCUSC travel team. In 8th grade, I was the starting goalkeeper for the WCDS Varsity team during all our NCISAA State Championship playoff games when we advanced to the State Finals. In 9th - 12th grade, I was the starting goalkeeper and a captain for the WCDS Varsity team. We won the regular season Conference Championship and made it to the Semifinals of the NCISAA State Championships each year. I was the goalkeeper for the WCUSC travel team in 2017 and 2018. I have been a goalkeeper for the '03 Neuse River Futbol Alliance (NRFA) Classic Division 1 travel team since 2019.
I enjoy being a leader on and off the field. During the summer of 2018, I attended the Shelton Leadership Challenge Program on the campus of NC State University. I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts in 10th grade. I am involved in the Mayors Youth Council and am the President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at my high school. During the summer of 2019, I lived in Spain with a family, studied Spanish and taught English. For the past two years, I have been the student teacher for the STEM 3D Design class at my school.
I love being a competitor on the soccer pitch and teaching younger players skills at Scott Summers Soccer Academy. I continue to work on my keeper skills and have trained with college coaches, college soccer players, and the NC Olympic Development Program. I have attended several College ID camps and the Wolves National Camp at Darlington School in Georgia. I currently have a 3.9 GPA and am focused on excelling in school and on the soccer field. I look forward to playing soccer in college in the future.
