I currently live in Ottawa, Canada, and I'm heading into my senior year, my goal is to attend an academically & athletically challenging university, in either the US or Canada. I'm a good candidate for a University Program because I'm a positive person, and a fun guy to be around (off the pitch), but serious and hard working on the pitch, always willing to learn more and improve my games from others like captains, coaches, or more experienced people in general. I give 110%, and the main focus is always to get better everyday and improve on my overall game. I'm a versatile player that plays RB, RWB, CB, CDM, CM. But predominantly play RB.
My collegiate goals are to get my degree in (Sports) Communications & Business. I'm a international kid with exposure of soccer/track & field outside of the US/Canada which is an advantage to most recruits. I've adapted to the style of play from Asia for 12 years (Malaysia & Japan). I love studying and learning more things every day, I attended top American International Schools in Asia which is also another advantage. I've travelled a lot through Asia, Europe, and some parts of Africa which helps me adapt to different parts of the world. Hopefully I can get some insight from coaches about the recruiting process.

- As Ikem Aginam’s Athletic Director in Middle School and High School track coach for the past several years, it is my pleasure to provide a reference for him as he transitions to a new school in Ottawa. After arriving in Malaysia, Ikem immersed himself in the after school program competing locally and on the international stage. He was an integral member of our highly successful soccer and basketball program. When Ikem entered High School he joined the Varsity track program excelling in sprints and hurdles. In his sophomore year Ikem became a leader on the team competing in 5 different events. At our season ending meet in Taipei Ikem qualified for the 400M Hurdles finals competing against grade 12 students and would have easily qualified for the 110M hurdles had he not struck the last hurdle. Ikem also holds the school record as part of the 4 X 400 M relay team. Ikem is well respected by her peers and is always a great asset in various game settings. Ikem possesses all of the attributes to achieve success. I am confident that he would be a fantastic asset to any track team in the future and he will undoubtedly achieve success at the next athletic level. - To whom it may concern, Ikem was part of our track and field team at ISKL for two years. He holds a special place for me as a coach. We see many talents come to us with abilities and work ethic already in place. We see students who work hard but never quite meet the needs to compete at the higher level. We see athletes that meet the expectations but struggle to reach their full potential. But with Ikem I saw a young man grow and develop not only as an athlete but more importantly as a person. For some perspective, in his first year in track and field he struggled with some of the commitment and accountability and as a result missed out on the varsity team. It was tough to see such a promising athlete miss out on what should have been a simple matter of selection. However what I saw in the following year warmed my heart as a teacher and coach. We push and hope for students to learn from their mistakes and demonstrate a certain character and Ikem did just that. He came back the following year with such determination and dedication that at times we had to remind him that it was ok to make mistakes or to not break a PB every time. He challenged himself with hurdles, he fought for positions on relay teams and he showed us as an athlete and a young man that he was ready to step up and take accountability for something he was passionate about. I was very sad to see Ikem go and if this is a reference letter then I fully endorse Ikem and believe that he has what it takes to be a great athlete with a humble nature. We miss him here and hope you get to experience his potential as an athlete but more importantly his character to grow and develop. We wish him all the best.
