Dalton Deshong '23 Recruiting Profile

During my high school and college career I will strive to be the best I can. I have been able to maintain a high GPA, securing a position in the honor society, while excelling with my soccer career. I have been playing rec soccer since I was 4 years old and club soccer since I was 8 years old. I was chosen by the Barca academy to play on an international team in Barcelona, Spain in October 2019. Two weeks before I was to leave for my international playing, I broke my foot during a varsity soccer game. I worked hard to get through rehab and was again able to be chosen for a team going to Spain in February 2020.  I have used this opportunity to learn international soccer, meet new people, adapt to new teams and learn new cultures.   I was able to travel throughout Barcelona playing club teams, go to professional games and meet retired professional players.  I also helped lead my high school varsity team to be the District V champions in the 2019 season and move on to play towards the Pennsylvania class A state championship.  Fortunately, covid didn’t shut down play my sophomore year in 2020. I was the starting striker and led my team to get another shot at the District V championship.  For my varsity 2021 season, I was blessed enough to lead my team to another District V championship. I also broke my school record for most goals scored during an individual season and was awarded the offensive award for 2 years  straight.  My senior year has been awesome so far. I’ve work hard and broke 2 school records. I now hold the record for most career goals and also for most goals scored in a season. We won the district V championship and are currently playing in the final 4 for the state championship.  I made the ICC all star team again my senior year and also played in the PA all star game to raise money for childhood cancer.  I continue to play club and indoor soccer during the winter and spring months during my off season. I am Very excited to continue with my athletic and academic career to pursue my life goals of working in the business and finance world.
