I hope to plan to go to study pre-medicine in college and then to go to medical school after graduation. My goal is to become a sports physician and to have my own practice that focuses on sports injuries, physical therapy, exercise, and healthy lifestyle and nutrition for people of all ages.
This desire grows out of my love for sports. I have played soccer and basketball and participated in track and field, including shot put and discus throwing, during high school. I did really well at shot put and won several medals, but soccer is my passion. I started playing when I was five, and I have played on a competitive team every year since first grade.
During high school, soccer has been my outlet. It helped me overcome shyness, and my love for the game kept me focused on academics as well as on my own health and fitness. It also provided me with close relationships with my teammates, who have become like family to me. In addition, it has taught me to deal with disappointment. No one wins all of the time -- although it's good to want to win all of the time.
Living through the pandemic has helped me realize how much I love soccer. Six months without sports was agonizing. But it gave me the desire to improve and be all that I could be once we got back into school at the start of my junior year. Our team had been alright before, but we became district champions in my junior and senior year and went to the state playoffs in my junior year. I made the all district team both years. My love for the game, and my desire to win, inspired my teammates, who worked harder, too. My best friend and I were co-captains of the team during my senior year.
I love soccer. I am competitive. I am driven to be the best athlete I can be. I can't wait to play soccer competitively in college.
