My name is Ben Fish. I'm a 2020 graduate from Wisconsin Dells High School. I play the Goalkeeper position, and I pride myself on being a strong defensive leader for my teams. I believe I have the passion and determination to do the extra work necessary to play in college. I have played for FC WISCONSIN - ECNL. My team switched from NPL to ECNL this year. I also played a year for Rush Wisconsin and have Academy experience.
I work very hard outside of my team soccer training with individual Goalkeeper training and strength training to prepare for the future. I participate in weight training nearly every day through my school and have a trainer through the summer. I have always been a hard worker in every sport I do – on and off the field. When I was at Shattuck-St. Mary's, I would go from practice straight to the weight room every day. Some days I would work on agility, others I would lift. Shattuck taught me so much, especially that everything good comes with work. I will always put forth max effort.
While I know club soccer and academy soccer are more important for playing in college, I was also proud to be the starting GK all four years of high school. I was excited to receive 1st team All-Conference Honors and especially to be selected as Team Captain all four years. I also play competitive hockey and have participated in Baseball and Track.
In addition to soccer, my academics are also important to me. I currently have a 3.0 GPA and am working very hard to improve on that. I know balancing schoolwork and soccer is important. I am also a Member of Student Council in high school and I’m involved in the youth group at church. I got confirmed as a sophomore. I am also a member of school choir.
I believe my diverse background and opportunity to play at different levels in different associations makes me a great candidate for any team. I have learned to work with new teammates and still be successful.
