I am someone who loves to learn and takes feedback well, and puts an emphasis on personal growth and becoming better at everything I do each and every day. I am very coachable and I love competing against my teammates in swim practice and love competition in general, and I know that competition breeds greatness and brings out the best in people. That is part of the reason why I have had my eyes set on joining a Division I NCAA Swim Team since 8th grade now, and it is what I have been working towards in my everyday activities since. My end goal in swimming is to reach the highest level that I can achieve, and I will make sure that when I leave the sport that I have no regrets and I know that I left everything in the pool.
I believe that my ability to rise to the occasion and surprise everyone around me is what makes me unique and stand out in the pool. My best events are the 200 and 100 backstrokes. I am better at distance and middle distance events but I have also shown potential in the sprint events. My coaches would agree with me when I say that I believe that I can through down a good 200, 400 and 800 freestyle and 200/400 i.m. Hopefully, I will have a full season of training in the 2021/2022 season, that isn't abruptly interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic like the past 2 seasons. I am truly excited at just the thought of that, because of how much I have improved this year even on very limited training. I have dropped over 12 seconds in my 200 backstroke, and ~6.5 seconds in my 100 backstroke (Short Course Meters). I have only been able to race once at Long Course Meters this year, so I am sure that if I get some more racing opportunities next year, I will be able to throw down some really fast times since my turns and underwaters could definitely use some work.
I will be beginning High School (grade 10) next year at Central Memorial High School, so I don't have any information related to that yet, but it is of utmost importance to me that I succeed and get great grades.
