I first became interested in swim was when I was 10. I had played other sports, but just could not get into team sports. Swimming turned out to be my perfect fit; I could focus on my own personal abilities and improvement. Through this sport I've found that I prefer sports that I can do alone. However if it came to working as a team outside of the pool I am open to helping out whenever or helping out other teammates. One of the main obstacles I needed to overcome was correcting poor swimming techniques that I had acquired in my first 2-3 years swimming club. In the summer of 2018, my parents signed me up for a swim clinic at a new swim club. I decided to make the switch to this new club and take advantage of the smaller team size. I overcame those bad habits due to hard work, persistence, and determination. Thanks to my new coach, I improved on both my dive starts and my overall form. Joining this smaller club, I can always push myself since we have open lanes.
My academic goals are to focus on computer science and engineering in college. I would like to seek a career in video game design. One of the main things that influence my life completely would be my parents. They have always pushed me to be my best and to be successful. They encourage me to be hard working making sure I show up early for practice, attend the optional trainings, asking my coaches for constant feedback, and they even train with me in our home gym so I can be in better shape. The value of hard work I developed in sports is just as great as the work I put in academics. I have maintained an overall grade point average of 4.0 which I plan to maintain throughout high school and college. I consider myself an athlete that has grit, a growth mindset, determination, helpful and caring nature combined with the fire in my heart to win. Overall I feel my personal life is fairly average. During the week I focus on my schoolwork. I am in a special dual language program that has slightly higher rigor. Monday through Friday I go to practice for 2hrs. I use the weekends as my chill time and I enjoy playing video games with my friends.
