My name is Ava Chavarria, I'm a 2022 Catcher/Utility player on OC Batbusters Lara Portesi 18U, jersey #47. I am a hardworking, committed and a great team player. I am a multi-sport athlete, I play varsity softball and volleyball at Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, California. I've played softball since I was 5 years old. Softball is my passion and I strive to play softball at the collegiate level. Softball is what drives me to be the best athlete I can be.
What sets me apart from other catchers is my athleticism as a catcher, strong arm at 68 mph overhand throw, receiving/framing pitches and able to play multiple positions.
I recently made the Mexico Jr. National Team First Pick but was unable to get my mexican passport to represent Team Mexico this summer 2021.
I've been taught by coaches and my parents to always give 100%, never give up, stay focused, always have respect for the game, coaches and players. I am a team player and very coachable. I also have great time management skills and stay organized to keep up with my busy schedule to be able to play multi-sports and get good grades. I love working out, hanging out with friends, family and my dog. I am currently undecided on my major.
