Zachary Nepogoda '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a freestyle, distance swimmer, but, work hard to constantly improve all my strokes and times.   After watching Michael Phelps swim in the Beijing Olympics, I chose swimming to be my primary sport. 

A good team environment is so important. It really motivates you to do your best every day.  It especially motivates me when I swim my distance events.  I know the hard work I put in at practice with my teammates, will show at meet time.  

I have recently started weight training in hopes I will incorporate additional strength. I am excited to see the additional benefits this will bring for swimming.  

Swimming at the college level has been a goal of mine since I started swimming competitively at age nine.  The kind of discipline I get from being a swimmer helps me with my studies and practice commitment.  I hope to be a part of a college team and make an impact wherever and whenever I can.  

I want to study History in college because I enjoy facts, culture and world events.  If you have a passion about a specific subject, you'll want to learn all about it.  I also would like to own a small business one day.  Zach's Burgers will be a success because everyone loves burgers.  I need to take business courses to learn the books and trends.  Feeling comfortable within a team, will help me in this career path.

Swim, eat, study, sleep, and repeat!
