Hello, thank you for taking the time to read this. I want to continue swimming in college in because I greatly value being a member of a team and working together to reach a common excellence. In addition to that, I also hope to better myself and stay in shape; I have a good thing going and want to maintain it. However, it is more than just about what I want, but what you need on your team. I provide skills such as encouragement, determination, and coach-ability. You will find that I am very receptive to feedback, and constantly work to incorporate what I am told into my practice and play. I am driven to get stronger, but also want to help others achieve their strength goals. It gives me great pleasure to look out for and be looked out for by my teammates. On top of all that, I don't complain, so you will not have to worry about me dragging down the team with negative energy.
I am different from other recruits in that I am highly sensitive to peoples' emotions and to minute details. This means that I pay special attention not only to the overall feelings of someone, but also the why. I differ from others in athletics because I see them not just as a vehicle to some greater glory, but a gateway for self-improvement. With every race time that I cut down, and with every day that I come home dead-tired, I learn more about myself and what I am capable of. Finally, I take my academics very seriously, but here I differ in a manner of thinking. While getting and maintaining good grades is crucial to my success in school, I also recognize that it is just as important to stay well-rounded as an individual. This translates into devoting tons of time to studying and learning, but also devoting time to self-enrichment and building relationships with my classmates. Academics are incredibly important, but a man is more than his grades. Once again, thank you for reading this, I hope you find what you are looking for.
