My goal in college is to pursue a degree in either Forestry or Marine biology. I believe I would be a great candidate for a college swim team because I have only just begun my swim journey and I still have plenty to learn, I began swimming my sophomore year with little to no knowledge of competitive swimming. With the help of my upperclassmen and my coaches who had very limited knowledge as well I came to love the sport. I have had a late start to the sport but I have continued to improve every Single practice. I made it to states my second year ever swimming regardless of my house being flooded during hurricane Florence in 2018. We were moving house to house while working on our home that had been flooded. Some nights I would get home from my practices and work on our house with my family until Eleven o’clock at night. The challenge of handling school, swim, and working to get back into our home has molded me into a very optimistic and driven student athlete. I continue to strive to be all I can be not just for me but for my Family my Team and my Coaches.
