Swimming has been important to me most of my life! I started competing, on the county level, at the age of five in Atlanta, and was ranked among the top 20 swimmers for DeKalb County in 2006. Competing on the high school level has been a great learning experience. I began swimming my freshman year and currently hold 5 high school records. More important than times, though, are the skills in leadership swimming has taught me. I have found it hugely rewarding to be a co-captain the past three years. I have recruited and brought other members to our team who are now benefiting from the experience. I enjoy cheering on my team-mates and encouraging others to beat their times and set new PR's.
My goal is to find a college where I can continue my swimming career and grow as a scholar and an athlete. Division II or III or most likely the best fit for me. I am most interested in Architecture or Engineering programs and am also considering mathematics or possibly business.
I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with coaches and visit schools to see ways I could be of benefit to their team as well as what they have to offer. I am confident I will find the right fit, blending strong academics with a solid swimming program.
