My name is Winters Xia. I will graduate from High School in the summer of 2022. I started competitive swimming when I was 9 years old. My best events are the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. I currently rank top 3 in the 15-year-old age group in Canada for both 100 and 200 breaststroke SCM. My breaststroke lap time is currently first in Canada for the 15-year-old age group and second in the 15-16 age group. In March 2019, my relay team broke the Canadian National record for the 13-14 age group in the 4X100 IM relay at the Winter Ontario Swimming Championships LCM.
I am in Grade 11 and my dream is to become an engineer. My average GPA is around 4.0/4.0, I am currently in the regional sci-tech program which is an enhanced study program that focuses on Science, and Technology. I scored a 35 in the ACT. I took the SAT subject tests on Jun 5th, 2021 for Math II and Physics, and I am waiting for my scores which will release on July 15.
I haven’t had a regular swim practice from March 2020 till Jun 2021. We will resume in-water training on July 5th. I will work hard to meet my 100 and 200 Breaststroke goals, which are 55.79 SCY for 100 Breaststroke and 2:01.19 SCY for 200 Breaststroke.
For the 2019-20 swimming season, I received the Leadership and Sportsmanship Award for my group. I am a hard worker in both athletics and academics. I can influence my teammates around me. In the past 16 years, my favorite hobbies included swimming, Lego/Lego MOC, and Cosplay. I love swimming no matter if my times are good or bad.
