Personal Statement

My name is Tosan Obatoyinbo, I aspire to attend a top flight College in terms of both academics and swimming. During my time in college i aspire to go below 19 seconds in the 50 yard freestyle, sub 23 seconds in the 50 meter freestyle, below 45 seconds in the 100 yard free, sub 53 seconds in the 100 meter free and below 25 seconds in the 50 meter butterfly. Having said this I would like to hold school records in all these events by my senior year and then go on to make the nationals cuts for the 50 meter fly and free as well as the 100 meter free. But ultimately my goal is to represent my country Nigeria in the 2024 Olympic games in Paris during my sophomore year.

I feel something which makes me a great fit for any team is my willingness to learn and adapt to different situations especially in times of adversity as well as my remarkable leadership skills,  also I feel I'd be a great candidate on any time because of my competitive spirit and my love for racing.

A crucial thing which differentiates me from other recruits in character is my ability to view every disappointment in my life as a learning experience and use that to further develop myself  as a person.

Another crucial thing which differentiates me from other recruits athletically is extraordinary work ethic, my one of a kind explosiveness off the blocks as well as my explosiveness during my sprint events, and unlike many recruits i have experience representing the Nigerian Junior National Team which i have done on 3 separate occasions.

Lastly, a significant factor which differentiates me from other recruits is my exceptional ability to tap into my desire to be successful in swimming and use this desire to excel in my academics, while also balancing all this with my social life.
