Personal Statement

Reaching junior nationals was the highlight of my career thus far. However I've grown more as a student athlete when I wasn’t competing. Attending practices has helped me grow more as a teammate and a leader. Yes, it was cool to compete at a level many people won't reach, but it is minor in comparison to whom the sport has made me.

I have had the privilege to swim for a team named COM for 5 years. The coaches and other teammates on that team helped me become the determined, focused, and great teammate I am now. Before I met the coach that was most influential in my life, I wasn’t going to practice, I didn’t care what the team was doing, but then I fixed that. Today I try to be at every practice, work harder than I did the day before, and be the best teammate I can be.
