I have been swimming competitively since I was 8 years old. My parents heard about the local summer league team and I decided to join. I loved it so much that I did it the next year and the year after that. Then, I decided to take it to the next level and joined a club swim team in Longview, one hour away from my house. Swimming has taught me about loyalty, as I still swim with that same summer league team every summer. I have also learned a great deal about overcoming adversity, as my team in Longview changed from Champion Aquatic Team, to CAT Metroplex Aquatics, and finally to Longview Metro Aquatics.
Even though currently I can only swim 3 or 4 days a week, as it is now over an hour drive to swim practice, I still stay dedicated to swimming and I have continued to improve. My high school does have a swim team, but it does not have a pool, so my club team is the only practice I get. I hope to get into a college with a good physics program that supports my academic interests, while also giving me the opportunity to swim.
