Nikolas Presses '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Nikolas Presses. I am 16 years old and in my junior year at Brandeis High School in San Antonio, Texas. I have been swimming competitively since I was 6 years old. When I was 3, my parents started me and my twin brother, Corbin, in a year-round swim lesson program. Within the first year of lessons, I was swimming across the pool by myself. My parents kept us in lessons for three more years so we could continue to practice. When I was 6, I entered my first summer league swim meet with my swim lesson team. I joined a club team that summer and have been competing ever since. 

It is my desire to swim competitively in college. I enjoy the sport, the practices, and the competitions. I like being around like-minded people who put forth their best efforts everyday into something they love. Swimming has given me the opportunity to see the results of my work because I can see my results change as the season progresses. Because of multiple swim practices and school work, swimming has helped my learn to manage my time during the day and become more organized and mindful of my schedules.  

Even though I am kind of shy, I am a very positive person. I bring a strong work ethic to the team and I get along with others very well. I come from a hardworking family. My mother and father were the first ones in our families to attend and graduate from college. They have instilled in me the importance of being responsible and a person that others can count on. 

I know that I would be a fantastic teammate and friend to others on my team. Having the chance to be a part of and contribute to something bigger than me is something I have always looked forward to doing.
