My name is Ryan Brafman, and I am a student at Worcester Preparatory School. My goal is to play tennis at the college level. I have been playing tennis since I was seven years old, but I also took part in other sports as well. I played lacrosse at the club level until the spring of my freshman year. I also played soccer and ran cross country. Playing team sports for so long allowed me to learn how to create mutual relationships with my teammates in which our motivation for each other was always constant. Those sports taught me how to be a team player. I have always loved tennis as a sport, and once I entered high school I knew tennis was the sport in which I would devote all my time and energy. I am devoted to training everyday with my coach from the start, Dave Marshall, to make sure that my goal of playing high level tennis in college is achieved.
I want to be a student-athlete because I enjoy the feeling of both academic and physical accomplishment. Being a student-athlete will allow me to continue my desire throughout college to higher levels that I am determined to reach. The feeling of getting a great score on a test and then winning a tennis match after school is something I just cannot get enough of and want to continue that through college.
I will be an asset to any college because of my motivation and determination. I am also very coachable and am always open to being taught new techniques. I am different from a lot of people because I actually care about how I perform whether its practice or a match, whether I win or I lose. I always learn from my own mistakes in tennis and in school and do my best to correct and master them as time goes on. I do not let a loss kill my confidence I let it craft me as a player. I am determined to be the best player on the tennis court and the best student in all of my classes. I receive straight A's in all my classes and I am practicing everyday to take the number one spot on my high school tennis team this upcoming spring.
I am looking for a school that will provide me with a great education while also allowing me to be a part of a strong tennis team. Like I said earlier, I love the challenge of being a student-athlete and would love to take that to an even higher level throughout my college years.
