Hi! My name is Bode Vujnovich and my goals are endless when it comes to my tennis, academics and where I see myself five years from now.
It is important to me to always give 100% to whatever I put my mind to and to simply keep improving. That drives my aggressiveness on the court as well as my discipline in the classroom.
I look forward to the opportunity to play college tennis and feel I would be an asset to a team. I am a true teammate and love the camaraderie of being on a team and working hard with the other players on it.
In fact, I joined the high school varsity team as an 8th grader and stepped right up contributing to the team’s success, cheering on my teammates, all of whom were older than me. I also found myself taking on a leadership role playing first singles as an 8th grader and helped lead the team to success that year.
While I may not be an honors/AP student, I have personally continued to make strides in the classroom and try to give full effort both on the court and in the classroom.
I pride myself on my behavior on the court. In fact, in 2019 I was nominated by a coach for my exemplary sportsmanship during a large USTA Eastern event and I have worked very hard over the years to not only improve my tennis and physical conditioning but also my mindset and behavior on and off the court.
During Covid, while I couldn't work on my game on the court, I worked on my mind speaking reguarly to a sports mental coach and consistently tried to use that mindset in my life.
Finally, besides valuing camaraderie, I also feel it's important to be compassionate. Over the years I have also tried to use my tennis to help others such as volunteering for an organization called Tennis Serving Vets where I played tennis with veterans with physical and mental challenges.
