Personal Statement

Greetings, my name is Ryan McLaughlin. I've been playing tennis for a bit over three years as of writing this and I am deeply committed to taking this career a step further in my collegiate future. I have picked college as my next path in my career because I have been blessed in this life with a strong academic foothold and a deep feeling for my sport, and I feel as if connecting to a college team and their coaches will help test myself to become the best version of me. I am doing this to find people that will recognize me for who I am and support me and my dreams for my future as a tennis player while I give them my all and my dedication in return.  I feel that college is the best approach to further my career as a tennis player as what I need is to meet people that will be unforgettable and lifelong. Over these past three years I have dedicated as much time as I can set aside to better myself in athletics and my tennis abilities through endless study, drills, and conditioning. I always keep a high and positive outlook on the future, no matter the day and I use this mindset everyday to better myself whenever applicable, it is my driving force to continue to grow my tennis ability. I have a very powerful view on my ethic and how to move forward in my life, I always give everything I do my all, and I never stop until I have done the best I can within my ability. I am not a quiter, I stride myself in never giving up no matter the situation I'm in. And lastly, I always make sure to take in as much love and criticism as I can, while also dishing out the same, as listening to others and giving back is a very important dimension of life to me, and I take these ethics everywhere I go. Academically, I have been blessed with a very strong mind that has gotten me very far in my education, with all high honor and AP classes in my upcoming senior year. My academic success is one of my proudest accomplishments in my life so far, and I will continue to give it my all this year to even further progress in education. As a person, whether it be as a colleague or a teammate, I am seen as a kid who never stops at simple completion, a kid who never throws in the towel and always pushes to the end, all with a smile on my face, and lastly, as a very upbeat and hardworking kid who gives it all to his sport and people.

The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE.
